This paper describes a series of compression tests on three different I-Section members with different slenderness ratio and different width-thickness ratio. Locally available materials are prioritized while selecting the three different I-Section members. As the materials strength are unknown, tensile test was performed to investigate the strength of materials. Tensile specimens were cut out from the member’s flange and web and were prepared according to the ASTM specifications. After getting the strength of materials, compression tests were performed. A total of 27 specimens were cut out from three different sections with the specimen lengths of 150, 300, and 450 mm. Compression test were performed using UTM by the displacement control method. Three different sections with four different lengths were chosen to know the effect of slenderness ratio and width-thickness ratio. The load-displacement curves resulted from the compression tests exhibited a linear relationship in the initial stage until the critical load was reached.
